I just got the new EP yesterday, didn't get to installing it until around 9pm-ish.
Took out all my downloads and backed up my files first. I just copy the file that says the sims 2. screw saving packaged lots, downloads, saved sims and neighborhoods and whatever else i forgot if you just save the whole damn thing you should be all set because you already saved everything you needed to save. I remember when I installed family fun stuff and didn't take out my downloads it wiped out my downloads folder, well not completely...I had at the time somewhere around 14,000 files and ended up with only around 400 or 600. Thank god I had backed up my downloads folder and everything else.
Anyways, back to seasons, after installing I put my downloads back in (which is now 16256 files, big) I knew I was going to have problems but that didn't stop me from hoping that I wouldn't. I just wanted to see how bad it would be. So, I try to go to a house and the screen freezes up on me as soon as I click on a house (in one of my custom neighborhoods, haven't tried the neighborhoods that were already there).
I've read that a lot of people are having graphics problems even without their custom content in the game.
Here's a link to where I read that stuff and where you might be able to find a solution to the problem. insimentor.net
I'm having graphic problems too even without my custom content being in the game, but at the moment I'm not that worried about it. I'm more worried about the other problem I'm having. So, now I shall go use my clean installer and sort through all my hacks and try to find out what the problem is.
I had a while ago sorted out my whole downloads folder and put stuff neatly in their own subfolder but stuff wasn't showing up in my game so I had to undo all that and just leave it messily lying around my downloads folder.
It would be helpful if the sub-folders worked for me because it would make my job of finding problems with my game a hell of a lot easier. Maybe someday that will work for me....
